Hey Lad's in a effort to get in front of the competition, i couldn't resist, and had to get myself some Boss Claws these seem to be getting good reports but require foam tuning from what i've read.... depending on the Temps & weight of your rig etc etc. Here are few pics comparing to the Sedona's which are performing very well to date. The Boss Claw on the left has Nova foam inners with PL memory foam on the outer. Probably a good setup for Summer but will give this a run to see how they perform. The Boss Claw on the right has the DD 5.5 nova foams. as you can see, not alot of difference in diameter with the Sedona's. Also got myself some Chromoly Worm pinions from http://www.DLUXfab.com, Great service these will go in for the next comp as well as alloy outdrives to further help in weight watches department. cheers Nec

It might just be the pic but that last one the worm face looks very rough? The guy making them says theres less binding with them, i'll be keen to see if you think the same.. Hope the boss claws work well for you, ive been watching the rccrawler thread but have decided to stick with what i know works for now, would be good if nova comes up with a foam to suit

Yeah, i wont be competing just yet with the BC's until i've done my testing, the Sedonas are working very well for me at the moment.... Linc wrote: Boss claws are taller than I thought they were. i thought the same thing when i first got them, these are the red compound(soft) not the silver(firm) and after i gave them a simple Green bath they are very sticking....

Hey Nec are you striping the gears with the rcbros motor mount? Ive never done one on my losi and run a HR mount on it.. on my built losi ive still got a stock mount and stripped the gear twice now on climbs i manage with the losi

You know, I think weighing without wheels is a more accurate comparison. I could just screw on some plastic, unweighted wheels and drop my weight again by over a kilo. But we all know wheel weights are a personal preference. I think the total weight without wheels is a far fairer way to compare.

Just weighed it on the kitchen scales we have here, 1355g, or 2.98 lbs for the US comparison.
That's RTR without the wheels.

That's RTR without the wheels. with the carbon fiber chassis, was thinking it would be lighter... its still light though Linc well i did my test #1 on the Boss Claws yesterday, if Mike has time, he may post some video footage For the front, i was using two stage setup, Nova inside foam for inners with PL memory foam on the outer, and DD 5.5 nova foams in the rear. With this setup, it basically went anywhere the Sedona's went but i think the fronts were a tad too firm (maybe ok on hot summer days). However, on really grippy rock this might be a winner and this foam setup really fills out the front tires and sides hills very well. The rears probably had too much bite with the DD 5.5 Novas, they didnt fold over too much, side hilling was very good. I think the real surprise was how stable they were when side hilling and really steep off camber lines. I also thought they enhanced the dig operation by providing smooth tire rotation, not much bounce, but this may have been because the front were a little too firm for the temperature on the day (18 - 19 degrees) and i'd like to try it on really grippy rock. Just so i remember what i've done and planning to test..... will document below, and so i can edit later when i've tested other foam setups. Test #1 (1st Aug) Front, Nova inside foam inners with PL memory foam on the outer. Rear, DD 5.5 nova foams. Performed well, would still rate the Sedonas just in front with regards to front tire bite, but BC rear bite was better. BC side hill bite was better. But adding a tuning foam to the Sedona's could improve their bite too and help fill out the tire just a little more. Test #2 DD 5.5 Novas all round. (same as my Sedona setup) Tested this setup today (8th Aug), and it was impressive. better setup then Test#1, virtually identical performance to the Sedonas but they do feel different, and were better in some lines. Maybe just need to get used to them. I'd like to try them out with this setup on different rock, rock that has more grip/bite. May run this setup at clovelly comp next w'end. Test #3 Rear, Proline Mem outside /Nova's inside. Front, Nova 5.5 Results TBA Test #4 Proline two stage all round. Results TBA cheers Nec.

Honestly, the carbon is just for show. And it's just the sideplates I've replaced, the skid is the same. How light is you're truck with wheels off? Also keen to know what Mike's and Hulksta's weight too...

So with a battery of about 100g and a lid of about 40g, we're talking about 1330g?
